The Odisha people are going to encounter an incessant rainfall from tomorrow. It is likely to occur because of the formation of low pressure of Bay of Bengal. As per the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, the shower will continue till the 5th of October.
Districts that will witness the severe rainfall
The heavy rainfall will take place at a few spots at the districts of Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Puri and Gajapati on the 1st of October. Besides, the districts of Khordham Raygada, Boudh, Bhadrak, Koraput, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Kendrapara, etc. will also receive the downpour. Along with heavy shower, these districts can also witness lightning with a thunderstorm.
Statement of Met Centre in Odisha
The cyclonic circulation began its journey over the west-central section of the Bay of Bengal nearby Andhra Pradesh. However, it is presently affecting the adjoining northwest and west-central section of the waterbody. As per the reports of the Met centre, it has expanded around 7.6 km from the sea level. It will further develop a low pressure over the adjoining west-central and northwest portion of Bay of Bengal.
Rainfall schedule in different districts
The reports suggest that a few places of Odisha will get light to moderate thundershower on October 2. On this day, the state authority has issued an orange warning for Cuttack, Puri, Jagatisinghpur, Dhenkanal, and Kendrapara. Similarly, Ganjam, Kandhamal, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Angul, Khordha, Boudh, Jajpur, Bhadrak, and Nayagarh have received yellow warnings.
On 3rd October, Bhadrak, Balasore, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Angul, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj might receive heavy downpour. Alongside, these districts could encounter thunder and lightning.
According to the prediction on 4th October, the districts of Angul Cuttack Sambalpur Kandhamal Boudh Kalahandi Dhenkanal will witness heavy shower. On the last day, the locations of Ganjam Bargarh Angul Boudh Kandhamal will have to deal with severe rainfall. However, the aftereffects of the cyclone will not be visible in all the area of these districts.
