Odisha announces lockdown

Since the last few days, the COVID-19 cases were rapidly increasing in the state of Odisha. A few districts like Ganjam are well under the influence of the disease. Hence, in a way, the state government had to take a decision in this aspect to save lives.

Hence, recently, they have announced a 14-day complete lockdown in the state. Now, there is a hitch. The lockdown will only control the daily life circumstances of four districts of the state. Conversely, people from other regions will be able to lead a normal life.

Lockdown in Odisha – Districts

As mentioned before, the only four districts of the state will come under the influence of the action. They are Jajpur, Khurda, Ganjam, and Cuttack. Besides them, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation, too, will be following the rules of the lockdown.

But why has the Odisha government chosen them? Well, for starters, during the last few days, these regions have shown a rapid growth of COVID-19 patients. Among them, Ganjam has been the prominent ones.

The region currently has the highest number of Coronavirus patients. Moreover, it stands at the top regarding the number of deaths as well. So, in a way, you can say that the district is currently standing in a delicate position.

What will be the Allowances?

However, the lifestyle of the district will not halt during this period. The shops, especially the ones with vegetables, milk, and grocery, will stay open in the day time. However, if you want to go shopping, then you will need to visit the shops within 6:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Nonetheless, if you do not want to go outside of your house, then you can also opt for home delivery. Various aggregators, like Swiggy or Zomato, will be fully functional during these two weeks as well.

Also, keeping the well-being of the state in mind, horticulture, veterinary, agriculture, etc, too, will be active during the lockdown situation. Besides, if you are going somewhere else, then you can also find the oil pumps to be open.

Will it be Successful?

Depending on the current situation, it becomes quite difficult to say if the lockdown will be successful or not. However, if everyone does maintain the rules of the condition, then things will get a little bit controllable soon. Nonetheless, if we are not careful, then no one can save us in the battle against COVID-19. So, stay at home and live a safe and secure life.
