With panchayat elections campaigns in full swing here, the three major political parties have been battling to resolve internal squabbles among their cadres, according to some observers.
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) appears to be going all effort to replicate the 2012 results in the Bargarh Assembly constituency.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is also working hard to retain all five zilla parishad zones. While the Congress is attempting to increase its tally in the sector.
According to reports, the Bargarh block has four zilla parishad zones while the Barpali block has one.
Leaders of all three parties in charge of campaign operations are reportedly concerned about rising dissension and schism inside their organizations.
The BJD’s Puspa Bhoi, the BJP’s Mukta Sahu, and the Congress’ Droupadi Bhoi are all running for the ZP-1 seat. In addition, two additional candidates are running for this seat, one from the BSP and one from an independent party.
The BJD is working hard to reclaim it. In addition, five individuals have thrown their hats into the ring for the panchayat elections.
The ZP zone-4 was won by the Congress in 2007, the BJD in 2012, and the BJP in 2017. There are four individuals vying for the position. In 2017, the BJP took up the zone-1 seat from the BJD.
According to pollsters, the BJP may struggle to hold the seats since Gourahari Mishra, who played a significant role in the BJP candidate’s win in 2017, joined the BJD during the Bijepur by-election.
