Today, the Opposition Congress party created mayhem considering the gang rape in Hathras at the Monsoon session. Due to the chaotic situation in the assembly hall, the speaker had to adjourn the event two times. After this, the present members continued discussing transact businesses. However, the opposition party kept on sloganeering against the Prime Minister of India Mr Narendra Modi. Alongside him, the members also raised their voice against the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on the terrifying event. In addition, they also urged them to resign their respective posts.

The Congress Party, further claimed that the Up Police restrained Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi from meeting the victim’s family. The settings of the Odisha Assembly became so heated that the speaker Mr Suriya Narayan Patro initiated to adjourn the event for around 15 minutes.

The House continued again after 11:30 AM. The Congress leaders repeated their complaint near the podium of the speaker. The opposition party compelled the speaker to suspend the session till 3 o’clock in the noon.

Accounts of the Congress MLA

The Congress MLA namely Tara Bahinipati stated that the Congress party will not tolerate the police’s action of halting their leaders to the victim’s family. He further mentioned the BJP government has destroyed democracy. Moreover, they are behaving like authoritarian. The MLA further threatened that they will continue their agitation unless Modi and Yogi resign.

Statement of BJD MLA

Considering the same, the BJD MLA namely Snehangini Chhuria commented that the UP Police is acting like the puppets of the state authority. She stated that the girl was cruelly murdered and now the UP government is harassing her family. The MLA mentioned unless the girl gets justice, the Dalit women in Odisha will take a strong step against it.
