The authorities of Utkal University have decided to close the second campus of the varsity in Jajpur due to the restrictions imposed on self-financing courses. Sources said that there is unlikely to be any new admission in the second campus of the varsity at Chandikhole in Jajpur district from the coming academic year. But the varsity administration had not published any official announcement regarding the development.
According to the revised guidelines by the State Higher Education department only 20 per cent of total students of the university are allowed for the self financing courses, so it has been decided to stop new admission of students at the rural campus.
The B.Sc nursing course at the second campus in Chandikhole is being managed by Shrusrutam Charitable Trust. However, students have been demanding that Utkal University authorities should take over the management of the course.
